SPIRITS AND HEADHUNTERS: ART OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS

The philosopher, Plato, said it best: ‘While we live, let us live.’ It’s a simple statement, really. All of us want more time; we want to find a way to extend our lives and do everything within our power to avoid diseases, strokes, heart attacks, high blood pressure – and the list goes on.

With the world of fast-food that surrounds us, this can sometimes be a difficult goal to meet. But Xist Fitness has truly become the ‘voice’ of a generation that wants to live!

For many people the word exercise falls under the same category as a flat tire; it’s something you know you need to do or get in order Xistto fix something that’s broken, but you really don’t want to spend the time or the money fixing it. However, exercise has also been talked about completely incorrectly. Programs do not have to be the hard-core cardio workouts that only people with six-pack abs on the cover of DVD’s use. Exercise programs can be tailored to your needs. This means that if you’re not comfortable with the regimen, then you can change it. All you need to do is go to a gym that actually cares and wants nothing more than to help you lose weight and feel better.

Xist Fitness wants all their clients to feel good about coming to the gym; they want them to be excited and energized when working out, and not see it as a bad thing that they ‘have’ to do.’ Because if it becomes a ‘have-to,’ clients will simply quit.

So how can you make working out easier? What can you do, just to start out, that will increase your metabolism, help you feel better, and make you actually excited about heading to Xist Fitness and working with their expert staff to get in shape?

Adding physical activity to your daily routine can be done in many ways. Not many people even think about the fact that as they’re walking through Walmart they’re actually taking that thirty-minute walk that doctors recommend. You can even add a 10-minute walk to your lunch break. Leave work, leave the car behind, and walk down the sidewalk to grab something to eat (good something’s, like fruit, veggies and more). If you live in a city, forget the elevators in the buildings and simply take the stairs when you arrive and leave.

And if you park your car further away from that Walmart destination, you can walk through the parking lot and boost your physical activity in a snap. Always start slowly and work your way up, increasing your time or speed as you go. You want to make sure that you don’t just dive in head-first; you want to be able to build that physical activity in your day without worrying about cardiac events.

The second part is always try to control your weight. This is the hardest part, but diet and physical activity must come together in order to maintain a healthy weight. There are a ton of weight loss programs on the market that include huge books telling you what recipes to make at home, or showing you the foods to buy in the grocery store. Unfortunately, some of these foods are more than a bit pricey. But finding the perfect mixture of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and reduced fat dairy products at affordable prices can happen – you just need to look.

To maintain your weight, you will find that working out at Xist Fitness for 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity each week will do wonders. You want to lose that weight and keep it off, so adjusting your physical activity with your calorie-intake is a must, and the professionals at Xist Fitness can help you do just that.

‘While we live, let us live!’ Making sure to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease will allow you to live longer so that you can LIVE each and every day to its fullest!
